Biography
Kathie writes both short stories and novels in the literary genre. Her work has repeatedly been praised as fearless, intense, and honest. Kathie hopes that through her writing, readers will see the world and its many issues, not in black and white, but in all the possible colors in between. She believes that ignorance is dangerous, that sticking your head in the sand will only compound problems, and that awareness is the key to a better world. Kathie’s role as a teacher and writer’s advocate began in 1995, and before long, she was teaching 65 hours a week at places such as the University of Wisconsin – Waukesha, the College of Lake County in Illinois, Waukesha Park and Recreation, Writers Digest Online Classes, I-University, Writers Club, and Writers’ University. In 2005, she opened AllWriters’ Workplace & Workshop, a creative writing studio offering online and on-site classes to writers of all abilities and genres. Kathie also works extensively as a one-on-one coach to many writers. Kathie is also an artist, and in her free time, she especially enjoys painting mannequins. She also loves to sing. Recently, she's felt a strong pull toward meditation, and so she's in the process of learning how to quiet her busy mind, and how to pay attention to the softest whispers.
